Goal Zero

Nabors’ goal is zero recordable safety incidents across our entire workforce.  Some of the 2012 highlights included Rig C0039 being recognized for five years without a recordable incident, Rig C0102 celebrating four recordable incident-free years, and Rig C0034 achieving three years with zero recordable incidents. By October 2012, Nabors rigs had accumulated more than 23,000 total CAODC recordable incident-free days.

HERO Award

In 2011, Phil Tuckwell, Driller at Nabors, earned the HERO award for keeping his coworkers on Rig C0045 safe. The award is given by Shell to workers who witness an unsafe act and in stopping it, prevent possible injuries. This focus on the safety of our peers is what makes Nabors stand out in the oil and gas industry.

Land Based Drilling Safety Awards –
Safety Leadership Award

Nabors was honored with the Safety Leadership Award at the 2010 Annual Land Based Drilling Safety Awards. The honor is given to drilling contractors who perform better than their peers on their Total Recordable Incident Frequency (TRIF) over the year. Our employees at Nabors make safety awards such as these possible by their hard work and dedication to our Mission Zero safety policy.

Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) Safety Awards – Certificates of Achievement & Safety Leadership Awards

Nabors’ employees consistently bring home CAODC Safety Awards. Our employees dedicate themselves to the wellbeing of their peers, achieving individual safety milestones and annually earning Nabors the prestigious Safety Leadership Award. In 2009, 48 rigs, 89 Rig Managers and 172 Drillers earned certificates of safety achievement. In 2007 and 2008, 50 rigs, 45 Rig Managers and 148 Drillers were honored for meeting safety milestones. Nabors employees hold themselves a higher standard, setting the bar for safety in the oil and gas industry.

EnCana Safety Recognition Award

In 2007, Nabors accepted the EnCana Safety Recognition Award for achieving safety excellence throughout our working partnership with EnCana. Nabors did not have a single recordable incident during this time – in fact, Nabors has not had a recordable incident for more than two years leading up to this recognition.

WorldSkills Demonstration

Eight Nabors employees showed off their industry knowledge in the 2009 WorldSkills event at the CAODC demonstration booth. WorldSkills brings hundreds of the best young professionals from trades, service and technical programs around the world together to showcase their talents and abilities. The thrilling, high-performance WorldSkills Competition lasts four days and is the biggest event of its kind in the world. Nabors received praise from the CAODC on our quality employees.
